I am an experienced individual and couple counsellor and my training and orientation is Integrative and Transpersonal. This means that I work by combining different therapeutic tools and approaches, based on the needs of the individual client, whilst always holding an awareness of the spiritual dimension of our existence/belief in a higher level of consciousness. I will listen to your story and bear witness to it with respect, validation and compassion.
Whatever challenges you are facing I offer you a calm, yet robust presence where you can express your thoughts and feelings with ease. Together, we will explore whatever is troubling you, giving you the space and time to find your own answers within a framework that is collaborative and designed to help you appreciate your uniqueness and build upon your signature strengths.
Finding one's story, the examination of how it has played out, the recognition of possibly another story which seeks to emerge is the task of therapy, or any pretence toward the examined life.'
I am interested in all forms of therapy and healing and my personal experience of loss as a teenager has informed and continues to inform both my personal and professional development.
I enjoy working creatively and imaginatively with the body, the breath and dreams. Guided visualisations, mindfulness practice, and relaxation exercises infuse the way I work, especially with those who are keen to explore their inner world and develop their intuitive and creative potential.
I am also a qualified Nutritionist and Beauty therapist. For 10 years I owned and managed a health and beauty business in north west London. This experience taught me well the importance of managing work related stress, both physiologically and psychologically and my knowledge of nutrition and self-care helps me work effectively and compassionately with individuals suffering from a wide range of issues such as depression, burn-out, anxiety and addictions. My nutritional knowledge and personal experience of an eating disorder in my teens and 20’s means that I understand food/weight related issues and this is another area – Anorexia, Bulimia and binge eating - in which I am able to help and support my clients.
I regularly engage in further training and CPD to support the work I do with clients and further my own professional development.
I am a registered member of the BACP and UKCP and abide by their ethical guidelines.
“ I’ve been seeing Sally for just over two years now, and can honestly say I would be in a completely different place had I not found her when I did.
The idea of therapy can be scary and overwhelming, but Sally has made my experience such a positive one. She is so patient and understanding, especially when my mind is racing, and I can’t articulate what’s going on in my head. Sally also has great book/podcast recommendations that have helped me so much, as I’m the type of person that needs tools or a task to help work on things.
There’s genuinely just no better feeling than walking out of a session with Sally, knowing I’ve got this!
